Common questions

A story isn't moving — someone hasn't taken their turn.

Open the story and tap Send a reminder to nudge the writer who's up. If a player has gone quiet for a while, the story creator can replace them with another friend from the original group, or with an open replacement if no one else is available.

I made a purchase but my ink or cosmetic hasn't shown up.

First, check your internet connection and reopen the app. If it's still missing, use Restore Purchases in Settings. If that doesn't resolve it, email us at the address below with your order receipt and the platform you purchased on (App Store or Google Play) — purchases are processed by Apple or Google, so we'll often need that receipt to look into it.

How do I delete my account or my data?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app, or email us from the address associated with your account and we'll handle it. Deleting your account removes your profile and personal data; completed stories you co-wrote with friends may remain visible to those friends, with your contribution shown as a removed or anonymized writer.

I want to report something a player wrote.

From any story reveal, tap Report on the line in question, or email us a description of the story and the content. We review reports and take action on accounts that violate our community guidelines.

Is Pass the Plot an AI writing tool?

No — every sentence in every story is written by a real person in your group. Nothing in the app is AI-generated.

The app crashed, or something looks broken.

Email us with your device type, app version (found in Settings → About), and what you were doing when it happened. A screenshot helps a lot.
